Finally the pain is ended And all at once my path is clear No more time lost to mere pretending Now I know nothing will interfere That which I have so long sought is finally within my grasp! And after what seemed a tortuous eternity... I'm going to feel happiness... at last

What's the use in being mysterious If nobody wants to figure you out? And what's the use in acting serious If everyone just thinks that you're joking around? Like a piece worn and torn I find I no longer fit My heart is faded and worn And I don't like it one bit I used to feel like someone cared That they understood and they could see But now it's as though there is no air And I am left unable to truly breathe Every day is like the last How I desperately long for something more Please tell me my future is more like my past Because my present... really hurts

A pang of aching in my chest Is there nothing that can fill this emptiness? Tears flow like a river only secretly brimming in the eyes And if anyone knew of my sorrows... Then they would surely be surprised... I stare at the ground, beheld in my beloved's gaze It's only two eyes, but it feels like thousands are on me I try to look up, but I cannot raise my head And as I wait in silence, I replay each moment we have had The suspense is driving me batty Because ever since you came The days that I was happy Are all too innumerable to name And I never before had A friend who was so true No I never knew all that I could be Until the day that I met you And now I stand waiting For the conclusion of your heart My mind I find is racing But towards a goal that seems so far What is your answer? Trails treacherous trod in triumph Majestic monuments commanding silence People paused with poise and dignity Reflecting in awe on their long proud history Some young ones fidget While others listen As times passed are recounted; An age to an instant Some learn from the past Grateful for the wisdom gained Some merely compare and contrast Or look back with marked disdain But whichever your viewpoint Whatever your thoughts The past is the past Whether we like it or not

A thousand things thoroughly thought through And of them a hundred ones I'd like to tell to you A mere dozen I know how to put into words And yet for the lack of effort... not a one is heard

A tender look of poignant gentleness The focus falls to one held dear And within those eyes lies a most precious endlessness That only their beloved's soul beheld in gaze can feel Serenity, tranquility... And an embrace more heartfelt without touch Like the radiant sun sending it's bright rays so life-giving When your sight soulful sets on me... The joy felt in my heart... just becomes... so much
