Missing and Wishing - Poem

I long to hear your voice
The warmth in heart when soft hands touch
I never had to make a choice
Finding that I just loved you so much

Your presence fades, but recollections linger;
In the heat you always were my shade
I remember when you'd catch me playing with my ring finger
And smile when I blushed and looked away

I wish I understood just why you left
So that I wouldn't blame myself
I wish I knew how I'd been blessed
So I'd have no reason to feel guilt

My heart was so full
But without you it is empty
Oh you made each day so beautiful

I am no longer whole without you here beside me

Oh how much I wish you were still here
